What is a trend?

A trend is simply the overall direction the market is moving. To keep things simple, there are two main types of trends:

Bullish Trend (Uptrend)

A bullish trend is when price continues making higher highs and higher lows. Small pullbacks happen, but price keeps pushing higher over time.

Bearish Trend (Downtrend)

A bearish trend is when price continues making lower lows and lower highs. Price may bounce temporarily, but it continues moving lower overall.

Why is trend important?

Trading with the trend gives your strategy a better chance of succeeding. For example, selling in a strong uptrend means you're trading against the market's momentum, which often makes the trade much harder.

How can we use trend?

Trend can be used as a confirmation tool for almost any strategy. For example, if your strategy buys after a 5% pullback:
